DONE

Fri May 8, 2009, 5:53 PM
Alrighty there, so I've been super super busy finishing my portfolio for studio, but earlier today I just turned it in so i am officially DONE. -cries tears of joy-

But I probably won't be able to get on any kind of updating schedule until another few weeks or so. Until then, feel free to enjoy the...old...comics...

...actually that's a terrible idea. If you're really looking for some good stuff, here's a list of comics that I really enjoy. Absolute musts are marked with (*)!

PX! - A story about a girl and her panda, although many more adventures ensue. Delightful coloring and dialogue, a good light read with humor and action.

Strange Someone - Liz is a writer and needs a little help with her new novel but when she meets Jeff, there's something a little strange about him...the art changes midway but both styles are quirky and fun. A short but really cute comic that's worth the read!

No Pink Ponies - A webcomic mostly in black and white about a girl named Jess owning a comic book store. It's really funny and cute, a great romantic comic with humor.

(*)The Abominable Charles Christopher - An absolutely breathtaking comic with unprecedented art. The style is unique and marvelous as author Karl Kerschl narrates the beautiful tale of Charles Christopher. A must-read!

Shrub Monkeys - A hilarious comic with a charmingly cartoon style and random strips about ktshy and her life.

(*)Bayou - One of the most magnificent things I've ever read. Completely original and innovative with breathtaking art and an absolutely captivating storyline. This is a story of Lee, a young black girl in the deep south, who discovers this whole other world filled with danger, evils, and just strange things. It's a little grotesque, being a horror story, but absolutely addictive. Read it!!

This is it for now, although I have a few other suggestions as well. If you'd like, I could post up another journal with the rest later. But for now, here's just a little taste of the things I've found on the internet to be worth reading. So go ahead and indulge in some fantastic artwork and storytelling and try not to remember how terrible my comics are in comparison. I know it's hard, but just try?

Happy reading and see you in a bit!
